OK First off this tutorial is going to assume that you already have a basic idea of how MapView in android works. If you don’t check out this great tutorial by Google and then come back here.
All MapVied up? Good. Now you can check out the video below to learn how to add items quickly to a MapView while allowing them to remain clickable and return information. Code snippets are after the video.
The game that we started in the last tutorial is now available in the Google Play market called “Negev Defense: Training Sim”. In this game you play a new cadet in the fictional Israeli M.T.M.D (Manual Targeting Missile Defense) Unit. Your job is to complete a set of 15 different simulated scenarios. In each scenario you will have to intercept and destroy all enemy missiles before they reach their targets.
The game can be downloaded from this link.
Alright its time to start gaming!! Check out the new episode where we tackle building the base for a touch game and delve into some debugging when we stumble into some issues.
I also was a bit over the youtube max time so split this up into to parts. Hope you enjoy.
part 1
part 2
A little break from Android and down to the basics with Coder++ a free online series from coder Hillel Coren. Great for helping beginners or experts to enhance their skills. Check it out!
Check out this new video dealing with some easy animations. See the video comments for source code and apk files.
Sorry for the lapse in posts but I have been working on several other projects. More posts will be coming soon. In the meantime here is a video of a gaming project I was working on.
I know it took me a bit of time, but the second video is finally up. In this episode I am going to go over how to create an Intent and move to a new Activity. There may be a bit of time until the next episode, but come September expect a windfall…..
I forgot to mention in the previous post what I am planning to build. As per the voting and a slight compromise I am going to build a puzzle game that utilizes sms services. I am going to start with the puzzle game aspect and then add the the sms features. Next lesson is going to involve working on the graphical interface and creating new activities. It will hopefully be posted in the next week or so.
I apologize for crappy quality, hopefully will have all bugs worked out soon. Next episode should also be up soon.
